About

Hi there! Welcome to my homepage. My name is Feiyu Lu. I work as a Research Scientist in the Global Technology Applied Research Group at JPMorgan Chase. I obtained my Ph.D. degree from Virginia Tech in May 2023. I have been a proud member of the 3D Interaction Group directed by Prof. Doug A. Bowman and the Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI) at Virginia Tech. I also worked as a Research Scientist Intern at Meta Reality Labs Research in the summer of 2021 and 2022. Prior to joining VT, I was a research assistant in X-CHI Lab led by Prof. Hai-Ning Liang . My research interests lie broadly in the intersections of Augmented/Virtual/Mixed Reality (AR/VR/MR), 3D User Interfaces (3DUI), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Machine Learning (ML). I have published full papers in premiere venues such as IEEEVR, ISMAR, TVCG, and ACM CHI, SUI. I am particularly interested in:

  • Modeling and predicting user performance of 3DUIs in spatially-diverse tasks.
  • Prototyping novel, efficient, and unobtrusive input/interactions for AR/VR wearables.
  • Researching ways to provide tailored and favorable human-AI experiences in AR/VR.
